缤纷游乐场 为了忘却的纪念 <<<The Glass Mountain | 首页 | 倒数计数器和正数计数器>>> 2004-08-10 speak of the devil Speak of the devil 的定义 是mention someone's name who just then appears，翻成中文就是“ 说曹操，曹操到 ”。问题是，speak of the devil解释成“说曹操”还过得去，但“曹操到”那部分呢？ 看看这段话： "Speak of the Devil" is short for "Speak of the Devil, and he shall come". It was believed that if you mentioned the Devil, it would attract his attention and then he would suddenly appear. That's why when you're talking about someone and s/he shows up, you say "Speak of the devil!" 原来如此。:) 给个例子： Ray: You know, I wish Jay were here! When he's around, I'm never bored. Frankie: You bet. He sure knows how to crack jokes! (Jay suddenly shows up.) Jay: What's up, guys?
