He never drank... wine. Godzilla --- not technically a horror movie, but we figure a giant lizard with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame deserves to be included. Frankenstein --- if the story of the man-made monster is too much for you, we suggest you watch Frankenthumb . It's pretty much the same thing, only with thumbs instead of Boris Karloff . Friday the 13th --- there was time when being a camp counselor was a pretty good gig. But then along came Jason. Jaws --- the great white shark feasts on New England tourists. Carrie

Sissy Spacek dishes up the ultimate high school revenge on the popular kids. The moral of the story: Be nice to nerds. King Kong

Peter Jackson has a remake in the works, but it'll have to reach new heights to top the original. Nightmare on Elm Street --- Freddy can only attack you in your dreams. Solution: never sleep. Psycho --- a boy's best friend is his mother. Unless that boy is Norman Bates and his mother happens to be a decomposing corpse. Jeepers Creepers --- a relative newcomer on the horror circuit, the film has already spawned one ill-advised sequel. Keep it up, guys! Leprechaun --- call us crazy, but we'd much rather run into Freddy, Jason, or Norman than that nightmarish leprechaun thing. Poltergeist

Spielberg 's ghost story is an '80s favorite. The Shining --- take one haunted hotel, add a deeply disturbed caretaker and his annoying wife, and watch the sparks fly! Hellraiser --- they just don't make 'em like Pinhead anymore. Blair Witch Project --- maybe next time bring a compass. Evil Dead --- described as "the ultimate experience in grueling terror." No argument here.
