The director's inspiration came from a particular community near Swansea where people live essentially an urban existence on the edge of outstanding natural beauty, and how this reflects in their own lives; how they make the choices which turn their lives one way or the other. Client: Verve Pictures Released: September 2004 A fascinating futuristic noir, this film didn't rely on special effects, but instead was a film of ideas, many of them chillingly plausible. Client: Verve Pictures Released: July 2004 One of my personal favourites. This film is the tale of an Iranian goatherder who wishes for a life outside his village. I love the dignity of the still, and I have tried to keep the rest as simple as possible. Client: Barian Entertainment Released: April 2004 A harrowing poster for a harrowing film. This documentary charts a bus hijack in Brazil, the horrifying drama of which was captured by television cameras over the course of one afternoon. Since the image was a screen grab from TV, the resolution was very low, but we used this to our advantage, to give the poster the feel of a documentary. Also, much touchup work had to be done to remove extraneous objects from both within and outside the bus. Client: Metrodome Released: Oct 2003 This is a comedy romance where italian gangsters crash into the world of a Scottish fish-and-chip-shop owner, with a penchant for fine ice cream. There were so many angles to this film, and we tried to cover them all, and still make it eye-catching. Client: Bard Entertainments Released: June 2003 A luscious yet tragic film from New Zealand about a young teenage girl growing up before her time. This poster is all about her face, the glint in her eye, and the forbidden drink she is taking. Client: Circuit Films Released: Aug 2002 This is actually an adapt from the US 1-sheet. Client: Fox Searchlight Released: Sep 2002 A complex highly-layered design, using the metaphor of an acid tab sheet - a useful device for depicting the varied characters in this ensemble piece. Client: Screen Projex Released: Mar 2002 Here the redness and the tabloid-style banner across the top hints at menace present in the title of the film. Client: FilmFour Released: Mar 2002 This dark atmospheric still represents the maniplative nature of Tim Roth's character. Client: FilmFour Released: Sep 2001 An attempt to embrace the bizarre world of Jan Svankmajer.
