Coz I like almost all the songs in it, which was released in 2002. I'll show 2 songs each day. Music is a reflection of society's feelings... ...western music has ALSO gone through many different stages and evolutions. When nuclear weapons were first developed, and everyone was afraid of being destroyed in a nuclear war, music became quite pessimistic. When the Vietnam War ended, and everyone was preaching love and peace, music became quite optimistic and lively. Different music communicates different feelings, and appeals to different people.Some people like rebellious music that defines them as different from everyone else. Some people like popular music that just gives them a good feeling and helps them forget about daily problems. Some people like music that conveys an important message. But, inevitably, the MOST powerful music of ANY kind is that which is original -- not just copying someone else, but coming up with an original, unique means of expressing themselves. And I'd suggest that this is what China needs to do -- not to just copy Western music, but to encourage its own youth to develop its own unique styles of music, that reflects the feelings/hopes/fears of today's Chinese people. There are a few Chinese artists who are doing this...but we need many more.
