We raised 6,000 pounds that met the costs exactly. It was one of those rare gratifying projects where all doors are open and there are no problems! On October 29, 1980, all four of us were present with the sculptor, her husband and the Mayor of Camden for the unveiling ceremony performed by Dora. Then I invited the whole company back to a convivial reception in the Library of the Conway Hall. Some years later Fenner's own spectacular statue graced the other end of Red Lion Square. So today the two men who together stood against the horrors and the wrongness of World War I, the nuclear bomb and American involvement in Vietnam are together in bronze in the square where William Morris worked and Oliver Cromwell's dishonoured body had its last resting place before being hanged at Tyburn.
