Junior 3 students across the country are getting ready to do one of the most important things they've ever done: take the High School Entrance Examination. In some cities, the exams are already over. After the exam, some students will go to high school and, later, university. Others won't be so lucky. But no matter (无论) what happens, there are some things students will never forget about their school days. Here is what some kids have to say about their past and the future (将来): Hong Rui (Kunming No 3 Middle School, Yunnan) "Playing the lead role (主角) in a school play during Junior 2 has made me think about my future. That made me love the feeling of being on stage (舞台). I want to be an actor or a TV host (主持人). Maybe I should go to art school." Lu Yue (Lantian Middle School, Shanghai) "In one week, we will have this important exam. But if it were not for the help of my physics teacher, Fu Jifang, I would be too afraid to take it. For the past few months, she has been helping me with physics, my worst subject. Now I can do physics much better and am ready to take the exam." Now is the time to show them that you care too. Father's Day is coming on June 20. It is a day to honour (致敬) fathers all over the world and a time to make dads feel special (特别的). Sonora Dodd is said to have first come up with the idea of a "father's day" in 1909. Dodd, who lived in Washington D.C., USA, wanted to honour her father, William Smart. Dodd's mother died while giving birth (生小孩) to the family's sixth child. Her father had to raise (养育) the whole family by himself on a farm. When Dodd grew up, she came to see how strong and selfless(无私的) her father had been when he raised them all alone. Dodd's father was born on June 5, so she tried to get a holiday made for that day in 1910. But her local government (地方政府) was slow to agree. It wasn't until the third Sunday of June 1910 that Father's Day was first held. In other cities across America, people soon began to celebrate Father's Day. In 1924, US President (总统) Calvin Coolidge tried to make it into a national holiday. But it wasn't until 1966 that the day was made official (正式的) for Americans. Since then, Father's Day has become a time to honour not only your father, but all people who are like a father to you. That could be uncles, grandfathers or older male friends. Many people give their fathers flowers as a gift on this day. Red and white roses are the official￡¨?yê1/2μ?￡(c) Father's Day flowers. Why don't you do something nice for your dad this Father's Day?
