In conjunction with the Dollar’s ongoing inability to even graze the 90 level on the Index, the guard remains up as to whether this Euro decline is really packing the kind of momentum necessary to break through 1.19 and thereby snap the longer term monthly chart uptrend. While holding clear of 1.19, the rather wedge-like confines of the retreat demand open mindedness to the possibility of one more interim upward leg back towards the 1.29 highs if pivotal resistance at 1.24 could actually be overcome. So the process of trading the market must remain rather cagey in keeping with the manner of the activity itself, a definitive break of 1.19 required alongside the Dollar Index piercing 90 to hammer home major trend reversals. STRATEGY

• A 50% Euro short averaging 1.2625 was added to via a 25% sell stop at 1.2030 to create a 75% short at 1.2425 average.
• In lieu of the pivotal nature of 1.24, would place a buy stop to cover the entire position at cost, 1.2425, a break through there implying scope to start a new Euro short afresh in the 1.28+ terrain. On the downside, add final 25% sale via a stop at 1.1850 to maximize short position should 1.19 cave in. -See subsequent updates for further information.
