04/03/03 00:59 [红 猪] [红 猪] 1992年宫崎骏导演的《红猪》「�tの豚」公映。 原作；脚本；�O督／�m崎 �E プロデュ�サ�／��木 敏夫 音�S／久石 �j 主�}歌／加藤登�o子 作画�O督／�R川 �� 美�g／久村佳津 色彩チ�`フ／保田道世 《红猪》是以宫崎骏在一本模型杂志上连载的漫画故事为基础改编的动画电影。该漫画是《宫崎骏杂想NOTE》中的其中一个短篇，名字叫做《飞空艇时代》，全水彩编绘，共15页。（在电影完场时播出的插画就是出自该漫画的） 《红猪》将背景设定在二十年代的意大利，同样是欧洲风味的背景和音乐，为了更加真实地表达出欧洲当地的风土人情，制作委员会曾到过阿德里亚沿海进行实地考查。期中一幕在阿德里亚海的黄昏底下，远处点缀着波尔哥的红色飞机，画面非常吸引！听说制作时最困难的其中一处是表达飞机在天空上飞的画面，传统的方法是将飞机的静态图在背景上移动生成动画，但《红猪》里有很多飞机空战场面，所以制作组最终还是决定一格一格地将飞机的具体动作画出来，这样令制作成本增加了不少，不过大家看完影片后都觉得物有所值。另外，该电影的制作还起用了STUDIO GHIBLI的年轻新进工作者，所以影片的风格也有小小的不同。 主人公虽然生得一付猪的脸孔，却异常的受到女性的欢迎呢。剧中的两位女主角年龄跨度不小，但都是一如既往地真心喜欢着波尔哥。 《红猪》是宫崎骏一部带有自传性质的电影，宫崎骏自喻为剧中主人公波尔哥，将自己的那种处在俗世而身不由己的矛盾构思成波尔哥的传奇故事。其实又有多少人不是在俗世中身不由己的呢？ Post by 青猫 @ 00:59 木木

04/02/26 23:16 小余 今天又放电影了。还是老宫的作品。 狸猫，是怎样的动物，其实不甚了解。只知道果子狸会传播SARS。（他们不会是亲戚吧？）影片里的狸猫，不仅会变身，还会和人交流。他们为保卫家园奋战，开头有点幽默的味道，大家是笑声不断。可是就在欢乐的气氛中,影片近尾声，导演所要表达的立意渐渐突显出来。正吉对着“镜头”说： 就像电视中心所说的那样，随着开发的进行狐狸与狸猫都会渐渐地消失，不能让这种情况停止吗？如果狐狸与狸猫都消失了，那么兔子与黄鼬又会怎么样呢？也会渐渐消失吧？” 这时影片达到高潮。宫崎骏再次留给观众一个值得深思的问题。我们生活着的这个土地正面临着不断的威胁，无节制的开发与不善利用，导致森林面积减少，生态环境造到破坏，连和人类密切相关的动物们也面临被赶紧杀绝的境地。老宫是一个不折不扣的环保人事，他所指导的影片当中相当大的一部分和环境有关。例如，风之谷，天空之城。小余说，宫崎骏在日本的地位相当于电影的“国父”。我觉得很贴切，尽管中国也有类似于 老谋子、陈凯歌的大导演，可是他们中没有一个能让我留下很深的印象。这位导演与其说是在用卡通的形式制作电影，更像在教育时刻为我们这一代以及后面的一代代人洗涤心灵，净化思想。 1994年《平成狸合战》「平成狸合�椁荬螭荬场构�映。 原作；脚本；�O督／高�x �� 企画／�m崎 �E プロデュ�サ�／��木 敏夫 主�}歌／上々�U�L キャラクタ�デザイン／大�V伸治 イメ�ジビルディング／百���x行 大�V伸治 作画�O督／大�V伸治；�R川 �� 美�g／男鹿和雄 色彩�O��／保田道世 《平成狸合战》是高�x勋监督的原创动画。在完成了《红猪》后，宫崎骏忽发奇想地将狸猫作为下一部动画的主角，因此《狸猫》便这样产生了。 在日本人心目中，狸猫是一种神秘的动物，它们会使用一种类似障眼法的幻术，身体可以变成任意形状，或者把树叶变成钱什么的用来欺骗人类。在本片中，东京地下的多摩NEW TOWN开始了社区新建工程，狸猫们被赶出了住处。他们就想复兴古代传下来的化学，利用这种幻术吓唬人类借此使工程搁置，向人类发起了挑战。他们从四周招来了长老狸，决定实施“妖怪大作战”计划。 在剧情中，狸猫们以极快的速度出动了，但在出动之前，它们变成了两只脚直立行走的姿式，观看的人看到这里一定会觉得十分有趣。事实上，本作的气氛是以幽默为主的，虽然也出现了被车轧死的狸猫的形象，但马上又回复到主基调上来。 制作动画的时候，高�x勋监督参考了狸猫的生活习性以及各地的传说，对人类与狸猫的关系进行了深入彻底的调查，而创作灵感则是来自于多摩丘岭地带的狸猫保护运动。 本作虽然气氛轻松，但观看之后仍有着令人心情沉重的地方。比如在故事最后，有一句台词使人无法忘记：“就像电视中心所说的那样，随着开发的进行狐狸与狸猫都会渐渐地消失，不能让这种情况停止吗？如果狐狸与狸猫都消失了，那么兔子与黄鼬又会怎么样呢？也会渐渐消失吧？” 是的，如果听任人类无休止的破坏自然，那么动物真的会消失殆尽。准确地说不是消失，而是被“消灭”！ 一场荒唐的战争落下了帷幕，但人类与自然的战争又将何时停止呢？难道就没有一种共同的生存方式吗？“平成狸合战”告诉我们的究竟是一个什么样的道理呢？ Post by 青猫 @ 23:16 狮子星号

04/02/18 23:58 成长纪事――关于蒙台梭利 巧儿 发表于 2003-12-23 我最推崇的儿童教育家是意大利的玛利亚 蒙台梭利，这位二十世纪的伟大女性所创造的儿童早期教育法，对后来的儿童教育学理论产生了深远的影响。每一个母亲，必须要研究她的著作，否则，你将失去至少一半的能力去真正了解你所深爱的孩子。我的床头必备的两本她的著作是《童年的秘密》以及《蒙台梭利儿童教育手册》。以下是一些蒙台梭利教育理论的部分观点，与各位妈妈或准妈妈分享。 教育学家们把孩子定义为“软蜡”，意思是指这个时期的孩子可以加以适当的塑造。教育学家关于软蜡的观念本身没有错，错就错在他们认为孩子必须由他来塑造。与此相反，孩子必须塑造他自己，这是一个基本的观念。而大人，这个孩子眼中无所不能的大师，却有可能盲目、粗鲁、又不适当的介入，把孩子开始在自己软蜡上画出的轮廓破坏掉。就是把大人的这种干扰行为称之为邪恶，一点也不为过。 即使大人们并非有心这么做，他们事实上会对孩子悉心费力的在内心建构起来的东西肆意破坏。在大人不加注意的时候，孩子会重新开始他的建构工作，可是大人们会再一次的将之破坏殆尽。孩子和大人的冲突就这样一直僵持到孩子完全投降为止，他从此不再发表自己的意见，不再做自己想做的事。 由此可见，在孩子这段如此敏感的时期，教育是何等重要――事实上，这一时期的教育工作，比接下来的任何时期都要重要。为了避免阻碍孩子正常发展的阻力，大人一定要保持顺应的态度，绝对不能盲目的、不合适宜的干预孩子。我们都知道地狱魔鬼与天神的不同：天神的力量是用来创造的，而魔鬼的力量是用于毁灭的。身为一个教育家，我们必须选择正确的途径，用我们的敏锐力去了解孩子，并能正确的判断什么样的行动才是帮助孩子发展所必须的。我们一定要控制自己的行为，以免造成破坏。做出创造的人应该是孩子，而不是大人。然而，这并不是一件让人做出清楚了解的事，因为一般人的想法还是认定大人才是创造者。因此我们应该抛却自以为万能的幻觉，以此来洗净自己的罪过。 迈开这一步后，我们接着应试着去更加了解孩子的人格。不论我们所教育的是新生儿，还是年纪大一点的孩子，教育者的首要责任应是去觉察孩子的人格，并对之予以尊重。当我们因为怕孩子吵闹而不让孩子和我们在一起时，我们就表现出对孩子的不够尊重。在成人的世界里，让大人觉得欢心舒适的事，对孩子也照着做准不会错。当我们正在吃晚餐时，孩子却在另一个房间里哭哭啼啼，那是因为他被单独隔离在一边了，显然我们对成人就不会用如此不尊重的态度而把他一个人关在房子里。我们应该像对待任何其他人一样，让孩子和我们坐在一起吃饭，而且应该感到这是我们的荣幸。我们应该乐于见到孩子，并让孩子和我们亲近。 有一些人相信，让孩子和大人一起吃大人吃的食物，对孩子的健康不利，事实上我们实在不必为此太当心。我们做的很多事情都可能让孩子受到了伤害，而我们对此已感到顺其自然了。我们应认识到，如果我们忽视了孩子，我们就伤害了孩子，而我们常常这样做了，却未向孩子道歉。 孩子最让人不可思议的地方，就是他们具有异常敏锐的观察力。我们想象不到孩子可以观察得到的事物，孩子都看到了。奇怪的是我们还以为一定要用鲜艳的颜色、夸张的手势和高分贝的声音来吸引孩子的注意。我们不知道的是，孩子有很强的观察力，可以吸收许多的影像，不光是东西的影像，还包括动作的影像，还有事物之间的关系。对于许多东西，在我们还未注意的时候，孩子就已经做了许多的观察与吸收。 每个成人都必须了解孩子的需要，同时要抑制自己成为孩子生命塑造者的虚荣心态。我们绝对有必要让每一个独特的个体从事内在生命的自我教育。我们目前似乎只注意到孩子对新鲜空气和阳光的需要，这两样东西的确不可或缺，但他们只对身体有益。但是即便亮丽的阳光洒满了孩子身上，孩子心灵里一丝光线也没有，这就是成人用她的力量盲目无知的摧毁了孩子特有的、缓慢的、脆弱且重要的内在建构工作。 成人一定要学会敏锐的观察出孩子的需要，只有这样，我们才能给孩子所需要的任何帮助。倘若我们要拟订一项育儿原则的话，必须让孩子参与我们的生活将是首要的一项。因为孩子在成长期间必须要学会模仿大人的很多行为举止，如果孩子不能观察到怎么做，就不能学好。 我们所持的的基本教育观念是，我们绝对不能变成孩子发展的障碍。明白必须做的事，既不是很简单，也不是很难，最困难的是，要了解哪些先入为主的观点和无益的偏见必须去除，只有这样，才能教育好孩子。 Post by 青猫 @ 23:58 那时花开 风不语

04/02/17 12:38 Insurgents stormed an Iraqi police station Saturday and nearby government buildings in the town of Falluja killing at least 21 people and wounding 35. The attackers also set free a number of prisoners in what is described as a well-coordinated assault. A fierce gun battle followed this that authorities say killed at least 14 Iraqi policemen, three attackers and several civilians. Now in a separate development, the International Committee of the Red Cross says US officials have given its members permission to visit the former Iraqi leader Saddam Hussein who's currently a prisoner of war. ICRC spokesman Florian Westphal explains the procedure. "The key element during this visit on the one hand obviously is that we do talk to the authorities in charge of the detention place to find out what the situation is, and then to be able to balance that view we also talk to prisoners in private." Mr. Westphal added that the ICRC also serves as a means of communication between prisoners and their families. Iran's Interior Ministry says 550 pro-reform candidates have dropped out of next week's parliamentary election in protest of the disqualification of thousands of other liberal candidates. The candidates who had been approved to run by the Guardian Council have joined the boycott who say that they have been shut out of what has become an unfair election. Last month the Guardian Council barred more than 3500 pro-reform candidates including 80 sitting members of the parliament. Four Afghans working for a mine-clearing agency have been shot and killed in an ambush in western Afghanistan. Authorities say the victims were attacked by suspected Taliban militants who sprayed their vehicles with bullets. In a separate development, a landmine explosion in Afghanistan has killed one US soldier and injured nine. Ayaz Gul has details from neighboring Pakistan. A US military spokesman Lieutenant Bryan Hilferty says the explosion occurred on Friday when a US military vehicle hit an anti-tank mine near the Afghan town of Ghazni. Lieutenant Hilferty says the US soldiers were on a routine patrol northwest of Ghazni He says an investigation is underway to determine whether it was a deliberate attack or a leftover mine. Either way he said the fight against enemies of Afghanistan and the fight for peace will continue. An accidental blast at an ammunition dump near the same Afghan town two weeks ago had killed 8 US soldiers. Also on Friday two Afghans were killed, and six others were injured in an explosion at the government military post in the eastern border town of Khost. That attack came hours after more than 20 rockets reportedly landed near the city's airport where US-led forces are based. US military officials reported no casualties from that attack. And Pakistani officials feel that the toll will rise. News reports say that 13 of those killed were in a truck that was smashed by a boulder. At least 7 people have been killed and some 60 injured in a collapse of a glass roof at Moscow's Transvaal Water Park. Authorities say that the collapse became because of the weight of several days of piled-up snow. There are reportedly hundreds of people in the park at the time of the collapse. News reports describe partly clad customers running out into the cold Moscow air to get away from the danger. The White House is responding to criticism of President Bush's military record and alleged US intelligence failures ahead of the September 11th 2001 attacks. A spokesman says Mr. Bush has agreed to meet privately with an independent commission investigating whether the terror hijackings in the US could have been prevented. The President however has ruled out answering any questions at a public hearing for this commission. The White House has also released additional files for Mr. Bush's service in the National Guard. Former Alabama guard official Bill Calhoun says he saw then Lieutenant Bush on base. "He came in every drill, made his drills on time, spent his two days, each month, from May until October, September 9. It was 5 or 6 months." Some Democrats say that then lieutenant Bush did not fulfill his military obligations. That's a charge that the White House denies. African leaders have finalized a plan allowing countries on the continent to monitor each other's governance and economic development during a summit in Rwanda that ended on Saturday. Officials say at least 46 people were killed when a car packed with hundreds of kilos of explosives blew up outside an army recruitment center in Baghdad. It was the second suicide bombing in as many days targeting Iraqis seeking jobs with the army and police. No one has claimed responsibility for either bombing. President Bush is calling for new international efforts against the spread of nuclear weapons. He spoke at the National Defense University here in Washington. "Abandoning the pursuit of illegal weapons can lead to better relations with the United States and other free nations. Continuing to seek those weapons will not bring security, or international prestige, but only political isolation, economic hardship and other unwelcome consequences." Mr. Bush also called for tighter focus on the proliferation issue by the UN Security Council and the International Atomic Energy Agency. Supporters of Haitian President Jean-Bertrand Aristide killed at least two people in the town of Saint Marc Wednesday as they attacked pockets of rebel resistance. As Dan Robinson reports the United States has again urged a peaceful end to the week-long uprising. The Administration Wednesday called on the government of Haitian President Aristide to respect the human rights of the citizens and residents of Haiti saying it regrets the violence and loss of life. However in separate comments Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld said there are no plans for a US military action in response to the situation in Haiti. The violence grows out of protests against the Aristide government by opposition groups who accused the government of human rights abuses and corruption. But in urging the administration to end what some call its hands-off approach on Haiti, some House lawmakers Wednesday took issue with the opposition to President Aristide. Congresswoman Maxim Water has just returned from Haiti. She questions the legitimacy of the opposition and accuses one of its key leaders Andre al-Pay of defying the rule of law. The White House has said it is supporting efforts by the Organization of American States and the fifteen-nation Caribbean Community to try and bring an end to the violence. Dan Robinson, VOA news on Capitol Hill. In US politics retired general Wesley Clark has announced his withdrawal from the Democratic Party presidential race. That follows his third-place finish in the latest primary elections. He addressed his supporters Wednesday in little Rock Arkansas. "Today I end my campaign for the presidency. But our Party's campaign to change America, is really, is just beginning. And folks, this old soldier will not fade away." General Clark finished far behind Senators John Kerry and John Edwards in the Virginia and Tennessee primaries. The next primary is next Tuesday in the state of Wisconsin. In the Middle East Israel sent troops and tanks after Palestinian militants in a densely populated neighborhood and Gaza Strip refugee camp Wednesday. The result was the bloodiest day of fighting in 16 months. 15 Palestinians were killed, more than 50 wounded. Iran has celebrated the 25th anniversary of the Islamic revolution that overthrew the western-backed monarchy. President Mohammad Khatami used the occasion to criticize Iran's hard-line leadership for blacklisting reformist candidates in this month's parliamentary elections. Kerry Sheridan has more from our Middle East bureau. In a reference to the hard-line Guardian Council's decision to disqualify thousands of reformist candidates from Iran's February 20th parliamentary election, President Khatami said elections are a symbol of democracy and restrictions posed a threat to the stability of the nation. The President made the remarks to hundreds of thousands of people gathered outdoors around Azadi Square in Tehran to mark the Islamic revolution's victory over Shah Mohammed Reza Pahlavi in 1979. In his address President Khatami called for Iran to avoid following the path of the west and also to avoid the path of extremism in order to fulfill the nation's vision of an Islamic republic that is open to reform. With half the precincts counted, Mr. Kerry has 50% of the vote. If the lead holds, it would be his first electoral victory in the south. North Carolina Senator John Edwards, one of Mr. Kerry's main rivals, has 26% in Virginia, and retired General Wesley Clark 9%. Results from another southern US state, Tennessee, are expected later in the evening. A suicide bomber blew up a truckload of explosives outside a police station in Iskandiriyah, south of Baghdad Tuesday. Iraqi officials say more than 50 people were killed. Kirk Troy reports from Baghdad. Emergency support and ambulances from as far away as Baghdad, more than 40 kilometers north of the town, were dispatched to the scene of the carnage. The blast came as a large number of people waited outside the police station to apply for jobs. US soldiers from the 82nd Airborne Division set up a security perimeter around the area while Iraqi authorities looked for survivors in the rubble. The police station and other structures nearby partially collapsed as a result of the blast. US military officials have blamed previous attacks on police stations on foreign fighters linked with Al-Qaeda and on Iraqi insurgents loyal to Saddam Hussein who see the Iraqi police and others working with the new government as collaborators with the US-led coalition. The US State Department says an American diplomat is working out of the Belgian embassy in Tripoli in the first diplomatic presence of its kind since 1980. In France, the Lower House of Parliament has voted to ban the display and wearing of religious emblems in public schools. The measure is designed to reduce classroom tensions between Muslim and Jewish minorities. But critics say the ban on Muslim headscarves, Jewish skullcaps and large Christian crosses infringes on freedom of expression. The measure now goes to the French Senate. UN Secretary General Kofi Annan pressed Greek and Turkish Cypriots Tuesday to agree to unify Cyprus before it joins the European Union on May 1st. Mr. Annan met Cypriot President Tassos Papadopoulos and Turkish Cypriot leader Rauf Denktash in an effort to end three decades of division on the Mediterranean island. Peter Heinlein reports from the UN. UN diplomats are skeptical that the deep differences over Cyprus can be settled here in one day. Secretary General Annan has said he wants the talks completed by March 25th. After that, he would be given a free hand to fill in the blanks on all unresolved issues. The final agreement would then be put to separate referenda before the May first deadline. Turkey is the only government that recognizes Mr. Denktash's Cypriot entity. The Greek Cypriot state is widely recognized, and will become an EU member May first regardless of the outcome of the UN-brokered talks. Turkey is known to be pushing for an agreement, arguing that failure will further deepen Turkish Cyprus's isolation. It would also damage Ankara's chances of joining the European club. The strain is different from the one that has spread to the human population in Asia where it has killed at least 19 people. And experts say there is no threat to human health. But state agricultural officials called it a serious situation and banned the sale of live poultry in the state. Earlier Tuesday, China banned imports of all US poultry following the lead of Japan, South Korea and several other Asian countries. The oil cartel known as OPEC has announced a 4 percent production cut effective April first. The news drove crude oil prices higher and drew complaints from consumer nations. Wall Street energy analyst Peter Beutel says the cut is bad news for the US economy. "This isn't good news for the emerging recovery all ready. When you have high oil prices about 15 to 18 months later, usually that leads to a recession. We're right at 16 months right now." OPEC also announced it will try to end the illegal over-production by some nations that has been adding a million and a half barrels a day to the world oil supply. 04/02/14 16:24 UN Secretary General Kofi Annan says the United Nations' teams studying the feasibility of early elections in Iraq should wrap up its work by next week. "And so, I think they will be there for abut a week or so. And I would hope to be able to give my decisions to the government council before the end of the month." Led by a veteran UN official Lahdar Brahimi, the team arrived in Baghdad over the weekend. They are probing whether elections can be held by the US-proposed date of June 30th. Secretary General Annan meets later today with Greek and Turkish Cypriot leaders to reach a final settlement for a reunification of the divided Island. He says they are on a deadline to qualify for entry into the European Union. "We don't have much time. If we are going to meet the deadline of one, May, it means we will have to finish the negotiations by end of March to be able to have the referenda in April." If no agreement is reached, only the Greek Cypriot southern part of the Island will join the EU. Turkey is not yet qualified for membership. The Israeli Supreme Court heard petitions Monday from two Israeli human rights groups against the barrier Israel is building on the West Bank. The rights groups argue that any construction on occupied land is illegal and that the barrier violates human rights by disrupting the lives of thousands of Palestinians. Palestinians charge Israel is trying to establish a de facto border for an expanded Israeli state. Israeli officials say the route of the barrier may change. US Secretary of State Colin Powell says he has received assurances from Pakistani President Pervez Musharraf that he is rooting out all elements of a nuclear proliferation ring that sold atomic secrets to Iran, Libya and North Korea. Mr. Powell told reporters he spoke with General Musharraf about the pardon he issued to Pakistani nuclear scientist A. Q. Khan. "Pakistani government has done quite a bit now to roll up the network. I said to President Musharraf that we wanted to learn as much as we could about what Mr. Khan at the network was up to and it has to be pulled out by its roots, and examined to make sure that we have left nothing behind." General Musharraf pardoned Mr. Khan, a national hero in Pakistan, after the nuclear scientist publicly admitted selling nuclear secrets. Nearly a dozen other Pakistani scientists have been arrested and are still being investigated. In Haiti an armed anti-government uprising has spread to near a dozen towns in the western and northern parts of the country. Jim Teeple reports from our Miami Bureau. Police are struggling to regain control of towns along a key north-south highway in the western part of the country. Large-scale disturbances which broke out in Haiti's fourth largest city Gonaives on Thursday has now spread to other cities and towns in the region. Police reported progress Monday saying they had regained control of Sanmarks, seventy kilometers north of Port Au-Prince which sets on the main road linking Gonaives with the capital. The disturbances which are being led by former gang leaders based in Gonaives who are former allies of President Aristide's government. They say they want Mr. Aristide to leave office and they accuse the government of human rights violations and mismanagement. A broad coalition of opposition politicians and business leaders based in the capital who also say they want Mr. Aristide to leave office have condemned the violence calling it destabilizing. He said the tax cuts he initiated have stimulated the creation of new industries and new jobs. "A lot of it had to do with the fact that we cut your taxes. A lot of reasons why this economy is growing. Make no mistake about the main reason the economy is growing because the entrepreneurial spirit of America is strong and we got the greatest workers in the world." Democratic presidential candidates immediately counter-attacked as they campaigned in the state of Virginia. Senator John Kerry of Massachusetts scoffed in a White House prediction that two point six million jobs will be created this year. "In this new report they say they are going to create two and a half million jobs over the course the next year. Well I got a feeling this report was prepared by the same people who've brought us the intelligence on Iraq." In north of Virginia Senator John Edwards pledged to undo what he called President Bush's divisive economic policies. “安蓝。你知道吗？你知道我有多希望你能够幸福吗？我甚至害怕你会死在我前面。我不能没有你这个朋友。只要你的一句话，无论是谁，只要你对我说你讨厌那个人，你不想见到他，甚至是我女朋友，我都可以马上不再和她有任何关系！可是你呢？你能不能为了我这个朋友做一丁点的事？把烟戒了？” 我看着诚，我哭了。 “不，如果你答应我了，才会让我失望。那样的人，不是安蓝。不是你。” 回家了以后，我反复想着和诚之间的对白。突然觉得自己欠了他好多。他已经很累了，我一下子觉得这世界真的是不一样了。诚最重要的人，也许是我。可是我最重要的人，根本就没有任何一个。没有谁对我重要。包括我自己。 后来我想要离开这里。 我打电话给了诚。我说我想要走了，去哪里自己也不知道。因为不知道哪里可以停留一辈子。 诚说：“安蓝，该走的那个人不是你。可是为什么你又要走？” “没有该不该的，我想离开这里。” 诚顿了一下。 “蓝，我知道，因为你的心愿一直都无法完成对吧？” “没有的事。诚，我他妈有什么心愿呀？我这都心灰意冷了。”我笑道。 “我知道你不敢跟我说，因为你知道，只要你的一句话，你做不了的事，我帮你做。” “诚你不要再多想了，我也不小了，不能总依着我爸妈不是？而且在这呆下去也不是我想要的。” “那我去杀了忍成吗？” “你疯了！？” “放心，安蓝。我不会的。因为我不想让你死。” 挂下电话，我又决定不走了。因为我开始害怕。我怕我走了，依然过得不好。因为我一直出现幻觉。关于一个孩子。我总是在镜子里看见一个孩子。 和一年前一样。 因为那场幻觉成为了我一生的伤疤。 当我看着镜子的时候，我看到的是一个完全陌生的女子，她还是一个孩子，穿着一双塑料的凉鞋。那是90年代人穿的样式。一袭及膝的白色碎花裙，长长的头发一直垂到了腰际。手上涂着鲜艳的红色指甲油。像血。眼睛绝望而空洞，就那么望着我，一动不动地，像个泥塑。忽然，那头美丽的长发起了火，一下子着了起来，女孩笑着，露出洁白的牙齿，很健康。那火却愈燃愈旺，想要烧到她的骨头里去。她伸出手来，用力的向我张着，她还在笑，眼神是美好而邪恶的。 我不知道她是谁，可是我感觉自己和她是有关系的。 我轻轻地问她：“你，等了很久了吗？” 我就这么着对镜子说着话，我知道这是幻觉。因为镜子映出的永远不会是真实的像。 我不知道自己应该怎么放手，或是能不能放手。只是在我发现自己看到了这样的一个女孩子的时候，我不知道该怎么让自己平静下来。我知道自己应该去看一看医生了。但我知道，这是医生所不能根除的病。 时间就是那么的刚刚好，遇见你，风和日丽，天高海阔。只是我一直都在错过，我的一生都在错过中度过。错过你，我从没有想过那会是一场错过。 而那一年，我读国二。 你只是说：蓝，你太清高又太自卑。你不是这个世界上的人，你有你的方向，有你应该去的地方。我累了，真的累了，恐怕今生今世都无法追随你了。 "可我更想看的,是她吃完之后是一什么样儿!" 后来,有点冷场,有一点儿,真的只有一点儿. 15秒之后,周围的人陆续站了起来,就为了要抢着吃那一盘辣的. 我就纳了闷儿了,干嘛呀,这是干什么呀.弄得我真的跟个窝囊废似的. 不就一盘辣点的菜吗...... "我---吃" 我低着头,笑着,吃着. 后来,坐在我一边的欣说:"蓝....." "不辣,真的,不辣....." 这么说的时候,我发现自己真的有点像个窝囊废了,不,我他妈就是一窝囊废. 吃完了,我抬起头的时候,眼睛都有点模糊了.干嘛呀,你们看我干嘛呀?没见过人吃辣的啊...... "好了,时候真的不早了,我想先走一步,你们慢慢玩吧." 然后欣和我一起起身,她要送我. 我想按住她,后来想了想,还是一起走吧. "别,安蓝,怎么我刚一来,你就闪呀?就这么走人啊?别是讨厌我吧?" 我说我怎么敢,我他妈胆儿长的再肥,也肥不到那一地步不是?我是真累了. "我说呢,怎么瞅也不是一盘辣菜都受不了的主呀,来,咱们姐儿俩是不是也该喝一杯呀?" 我接过那杯酒,我只想快点离开,喝就喝了,能怎么着? 你站起来,接过我手中的酒,一口喝干了. 这一次,夏夏愣了. "这他妈一个后备,你什么意思?你和我喝?我他妈和你好了这么长时间,到头来你跟我喝?!" "她酒精过敏." 04/02/10 23:32 A US soldier in Iraq was killed Sunday by a bomb on a road near the town of Mahmudiya, some 25 kilometers south of Baghdad. In another development, UN political experts met Sunday with the UN (US)-appointed Iraqi Governing Council to discuss whether early elections in Iraq are feasible. That Council was appointed by the United States. Leaders of Iraq's Shiite Muslim majority are demanding that elections take place before June 30th. That's the deadline that Washington has set for returning the country to Iraqi rule. A preliminary report by the Arab League says that efforts to promote power sharing among Iraq's different ethnic and religious groups presents what it claims is a threat to regional stability. Kerry Sheridan reports from VOA's Middle East bureau in Cairo. According to a draft of the Arab League report obtained by the Associated Press, the Arab League says that US-led Coalition in Iraq has encouraged rising sectarianism among Iraq's Shiites and Kurds by placing representatives of those groups on the interim Governing Council. The findings are based on a 10-day visit to Iraq by an Arab League delegation in December and are being circulated among Arab foreign ministers. Hussein Zacky, a spokesman for the Arab League who was part of the delegation told VOA that the Kurds' desire for federal autonomy in northern Iraq and the Shiites' call for a proportional representation in government are likely to cause problems both within Iraq and in neighboring countries. President Bush has defended his decision to go to war in Iraq saying that Saddam Hussein at the very minimum had the capacity to make weapons of mass destruction based on the intelligence that he had to work with. "A war of choice or a war of necessity? You know it's a war of necessity. We, we...My judgment: we had no choice when we look at the intelligence I've looked at." Mr. Bush's comments came in an NBC television interview that was broadcast on Sunday. The President was asked if the war in Iraq was worth 530 American lives even though inspectors have yet to find any banned weapons in the country. Mr. Bush replied Saddam was dangerous and he was not going to leave Saddam in power. Mr. Bush also defended his service during the Vietnam War with the National Guard, something his Democratic critics have made an issue of. "I have heard this...eh...I have heard this ever since I started running for office. I mean it's ... I put in my time, proudly so." Mr. Bush said that he received an honorable discharge from the National Guard meaning that his service was acceptable. The former chief UN weapons inspector is accusing British Prime Minister Tony Blair of exaggerating the threat posed by Iraq in order to make the case for war. In an interview Sunday with British Radio, Hans Blix said that Mr. Blair's government dramatized the evidence that Iraq had weapons of mass destruction. Pakistan's Foreign Minister says his country took action to prevent leaks of nuclear secrets to foreign countries as early as the year 2000. Minister Khurshid Mehmood Kasuri said Pakistan removed leading nuclear scientist Abdul Qadeer Khan from a top research post in 2001 following intelligence from friendly countries. US Senator John Kerry's favored to win Sunday's Democratic caucuses in the state of Maine and strengthen his lead in the race for the Party's presidential nomination. For John Kerry, the news keeps getting better and better in his quest for the Democratic Party's presidential nomination. Through Saturday, the Massachusetts Senator had won 9 of 11 primary and caucus contests. The only 2 states he failed to carry were South Carolina and Oklahoma. Public opinion poll showed the senator competitive in primary elections to be held Tuesday in Virginia and Tennessee. A Kerry victory in either or both of those states would be bitter news for North Carolina Senator John Edwards, who is counting on his Southern roots to earn him a sizeable chunk of the 2,162 delegates needed to win the presidential nomination. Through Saturday, John Kerry led Democratic presidential hopefuls with 409 delegates, more than twice as many as his nearest competitor Howard Dean who had 174. 04/02/10 23:31 A UN team of political experts is now in Baghdad examining if elections can be held before coalition forces hand over power to the Iraqis on June the 30th. UN Secretary General Kofi Annan says the experts will be with Iraqi and US officials and try to study all Iraqi views. Leaders of the Shiite majority are demanding elections ahead of the handover. Coalition provisional authority spokesman Dan Senor says administrator Paul Bremer and his staff will do what they can to facilitate the UN team's work. "The UN will be operating as an independent entity in Iraq. We will be here to provide them logistical and security support. We fully understood and fully support the Governing Council's decision to request the UN to come in and take a closer look at the situation." Coalition provisional authority spokesman Dan Senor. France and Germany say that they do not favor a US proposal for NATO to take a role in Iraq's reconstruction. At an international conference in Munich Saturday, Germany said it would not stand in the way of a NATO stabilization force in Iraq but the French Defense Minister Michele Alliot-Marie said that France will not support any NATO mission until the UN recognizes a legitimate government in Baghdad. At the meeting, Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld defended the Iraq war and said President Bush's newly appointed commission to examine pre-war intelligence will find answers. "They're going to take a look at the successes of the intelligence community and there are a lot of them. And they're going to look at the failures of the intelligence community. And they're going to ask what caused the successes, what caused the failures." Mr. Rumsfeld told the Munich conference a preemptive action such as the Iraq war is justified, he says, when there is a threat of terrorism and a proliferation of weapons of mass destruction. No such banned weapons, however, have been found in post-war Iraq. Afghanistan's President Hamid Karzai is welcoming an offer by NATO governments to deploy more troops to the alliance's peacekeeping force in Afghanistan. NATO has been under pressure for months to expand its current mission beyond Kabul ahead of Afghanistan's June elections. Palestinian doctors say that a senior member of Islamic Jihad died from wounds suffered in a Saturday Israeli military strike in Gaza. An Israeli helicopter gunship destroyed a car carrying Aziz al-Shami. The attack also killed a 12-year-old boy and wounded nine other people. The Palestinian Prime Minister Ahmed Queria condemned Saturday's strike as an escalation of violence. Finance ministers from the world's richest so-called G7 countries have condemned what they call excessive volatility and disorderly movements in currency markets. The G7 nations at the end of their meeting in Boca Raton, Florida signaled a concerted desire to curb the dollar's slide against the Euro. In recent weeks, the dollar has dropped to record lows against the common European currency, threatening economic recovery in Europe. US news organizations say that Senator John Kerry has won the democratic caucuses in the states of Washington and Michigan. Also Saturday officials say a major Labor Union withdrew its support from another democratic presidential contender Howard Dean. In Tennessee on Saturday, Senator Kerry told crowds that he intends to send President Bush to the unemployment line. "The one person in the United States of America who deserves to be laid off is George W. Bush, and that's what we are going to do." On Tuesday, primary elections will be held in Tennessee, also in Virginia. China has confirmed three new bird flu cases while a different strain of the virus has been detected in the United States. China's Agriculture Ministry said Saturday the new outbreaks are in Hubei, Henan and Jiangxi provinces. XinHua says quarantine measures have been taken and there're still no human cases. In the eastern US state of Delaware, authorities there say that they planned to kill 12,000 birds on a farm where a strain of the avian flu has been found. Delaware's agricultural commissioner Michael S. says the state's massive poultry industry must be protected. "Avian influenza especially the strain is a very contagious and, if not checked, could have some huge economic (and) consequences to the industry here." Officials say that this strain in Delaware can not infect humans and is not the same form of the virus that has infected chickens in several Asian countries and killed 18 people. President Bush in an early phone call to the Russian president Vladimir Putin denounced the blast and vowed to boost anti-terrorism efforts. But a top Chechen rebel leader is denying any involvement in this attack. President Bush has appointed a commission to investigate faults in pre-war intelligence on Iraq checking pre-war and post-war facts. "The commission will compare what the Iraq survey group learns, with information we had prior to Operation Iraqi Freedom." The nine-member bipartisan group will also review intelligence on the proliferation of weapons of mass destruction in other countries. The commission's findings will be announced in March 2005, well past this November's presidential election. Some Democrats want the results made public before the election including presidential candidate Senator John Kerry. "I think they should report within the next couple of months. This isn't that hard to go figure out what happened. There are not that many people to interview. Let's be truthful about it. This is not that hard to find out what happened." Mr. Bush initially opposed forming a commission but he has been under increasing pressure to do so. NATO defense ministers have agreed to deploy more troops to the NATO peacekeeping mission in Afghanistan. NATO has been under pressure for months to expand its current mission beyond the capital Kabul prior to elections scheduled for June. Pakistan's opposition parties are demanding a parliamentary inquiry into the state of nuclear secrets to Iran, Libya and North Korea by Abdul Qadeer Khan, Pakistan's top nuclear scientist. The opposition Pakistan People's Party called for the probe Friday. Meanwhile the Muslim League accuses President Pervez Musharraf of a cover-up. Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon is considering relocating settlers he might evacuate from Gaza to settlements in the West Bank. Ross Dunn reports from Jerusalem. A spokesman for Mr. Sharon said Friday that the proposed strategy of relocating settlers from Gaza to the West Bank is one of a series of options now being discussed. He says the proposal would involve settlers being moved to large West Bank settlement blocks that Israel intends to annex under any final peace agreement with the Palestinians. The plan Mr. Sharon announced this week involves the removal of most settlements in the Gaza Strip and possibly all of them as well as a few others in the West Bank. Mr. Sharon's spokesman says no final decision has been reached as the government is still drafting what he calls a disengagement plan to separate Israel from the Palestinians. The spokesman's comments Friday followed Mr. Sharon's surprise announcement earlier this week that he is preparing to evacuate 17 Jewish settlements in the Gaza Strip. Senior United Nations officials say that the donor conference for Liberia just concluded has drawn more than 500 million dollars, much more than expected. 04/02/08 23:55 Pakistan's President Pervez Musharraf has issued a pardon for the father of the country's nuclear program who has admitted leaking nuclear technology to Iran, Libya and North Korea. General Musharraf pardoned Abdul Qadeer Khan after the cabinet recommended clemency for the scientist who is considered a national hero in Pakistan. General Musharraf said that Mr. Khan will not be handed over for further interrogation. "Nobody, no document will be given. No independent investigation will take place here." Khan was identified as a nuclear proliferator by US and British intelligence, as former CIA officer R.G. notes: "Once that evidence got out there, and it became apparent that Pakistan was a supplier, it was obvious that Khan was going to have to be involved." In Washington, the State Department welcomed General Musharraf's pledges to prevent further proliferation and to stop activities by Mr. Khan's network. Aides say that Iraq's Grand Ayatollah Ali al-Sistani is safe, this after a reported assassination attempt in the city of Najaf. That reported attack comes as the UN prepares to send a team to Iraq to look into Ayatollah Sistani's demand for direct elections of an interim government. Meanwhile a mortar attack on a US base Thursday near the Baghdad airport killed one American solider and wounded another. The head of the Central Intelligence Agency says analysts never said Iraq posed an imminent threat before last year's war. "They never said there was an imminent threat." George Tenet says his agency believed that Iraq had certain types of illegal weapons and was trying to develop others. However he said what was known before the war was obviously not complete. "Did these strands of information weave into a perfect picture? Could they answer every question? No, far from it." Mr. Tenet denied any pressure to manipulate intelligence on Iraq, adding that President Bush wanted the facts presented honestly. President Bush acknowledged Thursday that banned weapons have yet to be found. Israeli police say that Prime Minister Ariel Sharon cooperated during a second round of questioning about his alleged role in a bribery scandal. Police are investigating whether Mr. Sharon knew about large sums of money paid to his son Gilad by millionaire, real estate developer David Appel in the 1990s. Police say that they have a recorded conversation between Ariel Sharon and Mr. Appel in which the tycoon said that great wealth would come to Mr. Sharon's son. If indicted Mr. Sharon could be forced to step down as Prime Minister pending the outcome of a trial. Most of the candidates banned from taking part in Iran's parliamentary elections on February the 20th will remain off the ballot despite a new review ordered by Iran's supreme leader. The Guardian Council Thursday reinstated only 51 of 2,500 candidates barred from taking part in a primary balloting. The largest reform party in Iran says this decision means that it will stage a boycott. A court in Germany has acquitted a Moroccan man accused of helping to organize the September 11th 2000 (2001) attacks on the US. Ruth Elkins reports from Berlin: The judge told defendant Abdelghani Mzoudi he was acquitted not because the court was convinced of his innocence but rather because his guilt could not be proved. The 31-year-old Moroccan student was cleared of the charge of being an accessory in the murders of more than 3,000 people killed in New York and Washington in 2001. He was also cleared of the lesser charge of being a member of the Hamburg terror cell thought to have organized the attacks. Prosecutors had claimed he provided logistical support for the Hamburg cell of the Al-Qaida terrorist network including arranging housing and handling financial transactions. China says the deadly Bird Flu has spread to two more regions in the eastern part of the country, this as UN health experts meeting in Rome say that a targeted vaccination program could help stop the disease from spreading outside Asia. They do maintain though that mass slaughter of poultry is still the best method. Experts are criticizing Asian nations for acting too slowly. They say that the epidemic is still not under control. The United Nations has called on governments and relief groups to give nearly 500 million dollars to help rebuild Liberia, which is trying to recover from 14 years of nearly nonstop civil war. Peter Heinlein has the story from UN headquarters in New York. Secretary General Annan declined to say when a UN team would go to Iraq to help resolve the dispute over how and when to set up a provisional government. He says security and other considerations are still uppermost in his mind. But with the deadline for transition of power to a provisional government less than five months away, Mr. Annan admits time is becoming a critical factor. Mr. Annan said the team he is sending to Iraq is charged with settling both political and technical disagreements about how and when to arrange a transfer of power. He indicated that the process of reaching an agreement acceptable to all parties involved is likely to be complex and time-consuming. Mr. Annan says regardless of what compromise might be found he will keep in mind the goal of holding national elections in Iraq by late next year. Peter Heinlein for VOA News, the United Nations. US Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld says he has not seen enough evidence to know if US intelligence was mistaken about Iraq's weapons of mass destruction. He told the Senate Armed Services Committee that weapons inspectors need more time to reach final conclusions about whether such weapons existed in Iraq before the coalition's invasion. He said Central Intelligence Agency Director George Tenet will make public additional details on the matter. "The Director of Central Intelligence George Tenet will be able to make some of those recent examples of successes, and there have been many, public, so that the impression, that is, he has and is being created of broad intelligence failures, can be dispelled." Mr. Tenet is scheduled to appear before the same Senate Committee on Thursday. Top Pakistani Scientist Abdul Qadeer Khan made a public apology Wednesday for leaking atomic secrets. Known as the father of the Pakistani atomic bomb, Mr. Khan has admitted to sharing his knowledge with Libya and North Korea. He says the government was unaware of his actions and he took full responsibility. Iran's Supreme religious leader has spurned reformist calls to delay this month's Parliamentary election. Reformist leaders and members of Parliament asked for the delay because of the blacklisting of reformist candidates by the Islamist Guardian Council, but Ayatollah Ali Khamenei ruled that delaying the February 20th election (could be against, rather) would be against the law in Iran. A prominent US Labor Union, the 1.3 million-member American Federation of Teachers, endorsed Senator John Kerry for President Wednesday following his multiple win in Tuesday's presidential primary elections. Mr. Kerry and other candidates hit the campaign trail again Thursday for this coming weekend's primaries and caucuses. Wednesday two of the Democratic Party challengers campaigned in the northwestern state of (Michigan, eh rather) Washington. Former Vermont Governor Howard Dean stressed his main theme of being a political outsider. "We can do this differently in this country. It just requires the courage, requires the courage of a state in the northwest who said no to Washington D.C. before." North Carolina Senator John Edwards meanwhile said Senator Kerry's status as front-runner might change very soon. "The bottom line is this is a very fluid race. It looks like its narrowed down to two or maybe three candidates. A month ago, everyone was saying that Governor Dean would be the nominee and that appears to have changed pretty dramatically and I think we are going to have a strong horserace." Senator Edwards. Senator Kerry plans to campaign Thursday in the state of Minn. Hazardous materials team from the FBI and US Capitol Police investigators have come up empty so far in their search for the source of the ricin poison discovered Tuesday in a Senate Office building. Republican Leader Bill Frist says Senate buildings will reopen in the next two days. "As a result of the fact we've had this assault twice, I believe all procedures to process and to deliver mail have been frankly improved, but as we pointed out, we' will be addressing that again and again to make sure that we are doing everything humanly possible to protect our staff." The announcement from UN Secretary General Kofi Annan came after a White House meeting with President George W. Bush. "Everyone agrees that sovereignty should be handed over to Iraq as soon as possible. The date of 30 June has been suggested. But there is some disagreement as to the mechanism for establishing the provisional government." President Bush said the United States remains committed to a June 30th deadline for turning over power to the Iraqis. In Iraq Tuesday, a roadside bomb killed a US soldier and wounded another near Iskandariyah, a town about 50 kilometers south of Baghdad. In Britain, Prime Minister Tony Blair has named a panel to investigate British intelligence on Iraqi weapons of mass destruction. He said the information will be in the public interest. "I think people would find it unsatisfactory if we simply said we are not going to look the intelligence at all for what could be quite a long period of time." Mr. Blair named former Chief Civil Servant Lord Butler to head the panel and said it would report by July. Senator John Edwards is the projected winner of Tuesday's Democratic primary election in South Carolina. Senator Edwards had said Carolina was a must-win state if he hoped to reach the party's nominating convention with a chance to beat the front-runner Senator John Kerry. Senator Kerry and former Vermont Governor Howard Dean campaigned Tuesday in the State of Washington. First Mr. Dean. "First, I balance budgets. Results are expected soon from the primary elections in the states of Missouri and Oklahoma where poll showed Senator Kerry far in the lead. A white powder found in the office mail of the US Senate Republican leader has tested positive for the deadly poison ricin. The discovery forced cancellation of most Senate business Tuesday and the start of what Capitol Police Chief Terry Gainer called a major investigation. "We anticipate that over the next several days that we will send hundreds of individuals into those buildings to reclaim any mail that hadn't been opened." So far, there are no reports of anyone showing any symptoms of ricin-poisoning. But the Capitol physician Dr. John Eisold urged Senate employees to be alert for symptoms over the next few days. "And right now we have a window that we were looking at, probably for the next 48 to 72 hours, to see if anybody develops progressive symptoms. And right now I think we are confident that we can catch those people and treat them safely." More than 6,000 people work in the Senate buildings that were closed. North Korea has agreed to resume 6-nation talks on its nuclear weapons program. The talks will resume February 25th in Beijing. Palestinian Prime Minister Ahmed Qureia has welcomed Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon's announcement that Israel will remove 17 Jewish settlements from the Gaza Strip. Domestically though, Mr. Sharon has been attacked for the plan by his own political party, the Likud and by the national religious party. Leaders of Gaza settlements say Mr. Sharon should be voted out of office if he dismantles the settlements. A car bomb has killed at least 2 people and wounded 10 near a commercial center in a southern Russian city. VOA's Lisa McAdams reports from Moscow. Russian news agencies report that one car was ablaze and windows in a nearby building were shattered when a suspected car bomb exploded in the southern Russian city of Vladikavkaz near separatist Chechnya. No group has claimed responsibility for the blast which went off near the town's shopping and cultural area Tuesday evening. According to reports from the town, among those injured were soldiers who were riding in a truck that was passing the car just as it exploded. Vladikavkaz is the provincial capital of north Osetia, which is located west of Chechnya where Russian federal forces and Chechen separatists have been locked in a guerilla style war since 1994. Russia's Itar-Tass News Agency reports that officials from the Federal Security Service, the Interior Ministry and the Russian Prosecutor's Office are setting up a joint investigation of the blast. Opposition politicians in both countries demanded the probes after inspectors failed to find evidence of Iraqi weapons. Senator Tom Daschle, a leader of the Democrats in the U.S. Senate is skeptical about the Bush approach. "It sounds as if the President is going to call for one, or he gets to appoint, each of the members and dictate the design and ultimately the circumstances under which they do their work." Mr. Bush said Monday the bipartisan U.S panel will go beyond Iraq to look into how the United States can better fight terrorism. Meanwhile, British Prime Minister Blair is expected to call for an independent panel when he meets with senior lawmakers today. Tom Rivers reports from London. Prime Minister Tony Blair has repeatedly resisted attempts to authorize an investigation into the apparent failure to uncover Iraq's alleged weapons of mass destruction. For months, the Prime Minister has maintained it would not be prudent to hold such an inquiry until the Iraq's survey group of weapon inspectors release its final report. Opposition party leaders and many members of Mr. Blair's own ruling Labor Party have been calling for a thorough examination of Britain's pre-war intelligence on Iraq's purported mass destruction arsenal and how that information was used. With President Bush announcing his intention to launch an independent investigation into U.S intelligence failures, the pressure on Mr. Blair to do likewise has increased. Mr. Blair justified the case for going to war based on the threat posed by Iraq's alleged chemical, biological and nuclear weapons. In a report issued last week by a senior judge, Mr. Blair was clear of allegations his office had embellished intelligence about Iraq's weaponry in order to justify going to war. The Bush administration is trying to break a deadlock with Iraq's powerful Shiite community which is demanding direct elections. The United States has welcomed Pakistan's investigation into the illegal transfer of nuclear technology to Iran, Libya and North Korea. The founder of Pakistan's nuclear weapons program, Abdul Qadeer Khan, is said to have confessed to the transfer to the three nations. Ayaz Gul reports from the Islamabad. Officials close to Pakistan's probe into allegations of nuclear proliferation say that Abdul Qadeer Khan has accepted he was involved in leaking nuclear secrets to Iran, Libya and North Korea. The unnamed officials told a group of local reporters late Sunday that Mr. Khan admitted the secrets were leaked between 1989 and 2000 without the knowledge of the government. Political commentator S.T. was at the briefing. He says one question that remains is how the leaks could have gone on unnoticed. "That will become a big political issue in Pakistan in the coming days." Six colleagues of Mr. Khan are also said to have confessed to leaking nuclear technology. Democratic Party voters go to the polls today in 7 U.S. states while a new public opinion survey shows the party's front-runner John Kerry would defeat President Bush if the election were held today. The CNN, USA Today Gallop Poll released Monday found Mr. Kerry leads Mr. Bush 53 to 46 percent in a head-to-head match-up. The poll also shows Mr. Kerry, a Massachusetts Senator leading former Vermont government Howard Dean 49 to 14 percent in the race for the democratic presidential nomination. North Carolina Senator John Edwards was next with 13 percent. And Monday, he was clearly feeling the strain of the heavy campaigning. "I have been giving too many speeches. This voice is starting to fade on me, but I will be OK, I will get through this." The seven democratic candidates made a final push Monday to win over voters ahead of today's balloting. Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon says he plans to evacuate 17 Jewish settlements in the Gaza Strip. Kerry Sheridan reports from VOA's Middle East bureau in Cairo. In a fiery address broadcast live on an Iran's state radio, a reformist member of parliament, Mohsen Mirdamadi, accused the country's Islamic authorities of trying to create a religious dictatorship. Mr. Mirdamadi said conservatives were trying to suppress the will of the people and that he and more than 100 resigning lawmakers could not continue in parliament under those conditions. The resignations came two days after the conservative Guardian Council announced it had reinstated only a third of the 3600 mostly reformist candidates it banned from running in Iran's February 20th election. Parliament speaker, Mehdi Karoubi, said parliament will vote next week on whether to accept the resignations. Mr. Karoubi has appealed to Iran's supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei to intervene in the deepening political crisis. The Ayatollah has the final say in all matters of state. Kerry Sheridan for VOA news, Cairo. A senior US commander in Iraq says 56 people were killed and more than 200 wounded in two suicide bombings in the northern Iraqi city of Arbil Sunday. The attacks at the offices of two Kurdish political parties killed at least one top Kurdish official. Meanwhile the US army says one American soldier has been killed and 12 others wounded in a rocket attack on a US base north of Baghdad. US Deputy Secretary of Defense Paul Wolfowitze was visiting Iraq today to assess the security situation in the country. Saudi officials say 244 Muslim pilgrims were trampled to death in a stampede during the annual hajj pilgrimage to Mecca. A similar number of people were reported to have been injured in the fatal rush which happened Sunday during the pilgrims' ritual stoning of the devil at the Jamarat Bridge in Mena. The hajj attracts an estimated two million Muslim pilgrims to Mecca each year. Senior US officials say president Bush will order an independent investigation into pre-war intelligence about Iraq's weapons of mass destruction. He has been under pressure from both Republican and Democratic lawmakers to open such an inquiry. Reports quote the senior US officials as saying the probe will focus on pre-war intelligence estimates. Last week the former chief US weapons expert in Iraq David Kay said he believed pre-war intelligence on Iraq's banned weapons was almost all wrong. The contenders for the Democratic Party's nomination for president of the United States are campaigning in seven states that will express their preferences in primary voting on Tuesday. The front runner in most of those states is Massachusetts Senator John Kerry. However a new poll shows North Carolina Senator John Edwards increasing his lead over Mr. Kerry in South Carolina. VOA's Jim Teeple reports. While he remains the overall front runner among Democrats, Senator John Kerry trails John Edwards in South Carolina. According to the latest poll in the state issued by Zogby International, 26 percent of Democrats in the state say they will vote for Mr. Edwards, a 22 percent say they support Mr. Kerry, 22 percent of voters in the state say they remain undecided. The poll shows Mr. Kerry's support slipping slightly in South Carolina two days before Democrats vote in the first southern state to hold a primary this year. Another poll from CNN and Los Angels Times shows Mr. Edwards at an even bigger lead over Mr. Kerry. Mr. Edwards who was born in South Carolina says he has to win here to remain competitive in the race. The World Health Organization says two Vietnamese women who died of bird flu last month may have contracted the virus in human to human contact. Experts theorize the women may have caught the virus from their brother. WHO spokesman Bob Dietz explained. " This is not confirmed human to human transmission, only, that at this point, we can't dismiss it as (not) a possibility."
